Originally designed and built by the Shaw lineage of architects in the middle of 20th century, this Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home was removed to the slab by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The client loved the original design so much, during the immediate aftermath of the the storm, he located the original design firm and requested the house be rebuilt, “exactly like it was.”
While working for Shaw Design Group, Mr. Shaw and his daughter were able to use original working drawings and photographs to restore this home. The rebuilding finished so quickly many visitors thought this home, less than one block off Highway 90, had survived Katrina intact.
